OpenTap is a fusion of historic charm and contemporary sustainability. Inspired by the beauty of the region's log cabins, we sought to create a modern space that pays homage to its rich heritage. Through innovative design choices and a commitment to eco-friendly practices, OpenTap stands as a testament to the seamless blend of tradition and progress.

One of the standout features of OpenTap is the innovative use of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) wood panels. These panels not only provide structural support but also serve as a stunning roof, making this project one of the pioneers of CLT construction in Charlotte. This sustainable approach not only adds a unique aesthetic but also reduces the environmental impact of the building by helping to keep carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

A focal point of OpenTap is “The Front Lawn,” a carefully designed outdoor space that invites patrons to revel in the joys of outdoor entertainment. Here, guests can gather, relax, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere while indulging in their favorite beverages. Whether it's a sunny afternoon or a starry night, you can find folks making memories on The Front Lawn.

One of the most charming elements of OpenTap is the "Treehouse" mezzanine. Rising up through the heart of the gathering space, a tree constructed of 4x4 cedar posts creates a unique and natural ambiance, inviting guests to embrace a sense of wonder and connection with nature. 

In our commitment to creating a dynamic and inclusive space, we have also incorporated "The Port," a thoughtfully designed area dedicated to food truck parking. This dedicated space allows for a seamless integration of all different kinds of cuisines to accompany the diverse beverage selection at OpenTap. The Port ensures that guests can indulge in delicious fare while relishing the vibrant atmosphere of this new neighborhood favorite.
