Uwharrie Bank was founded in Albemarle, NC, just outside the Uwharrie National Forest. The bank’s small-town roots seem to contradict its role as an industry leader in banking technology. It’s no coincidence, then, that the bank’s ultra-modern interior, complete with Technology Bar, also hints at the beautiful natural area that is its namesake.
 
Just inside the entrance, visitors are greeted by a gloss white tree silhouette—a reference to the white bark of the Yadkin River Sycamore tree. Less obvious are the muted reflections of etched mirror that pay homage to Badin Lake. Mountain Poplar bark covers select office walls. The stained wood tile ceiling mimics the winter canopy of the Glady Fork Beech Tree. Carpet patterns and colors are an abstraction of moss-covered stone. Millwork and fixtures are crafted in Piedmont Walnut.
